Helix Elite Mattress Construction

Helix Midnight Elite, Unzipped

Helix’s six Elite hybrid mattresses are 16 inches tall and consist of nine layers that are built for your comfort and long-lasting stability These mattresses are great for all sleep styles and body types.

The top layer in each Elite mattress is a 2-inch plush Pillow Top. The Pillow Top is finished with Helix’s GlacioTex Cooling Cover, which offers excellent temperature regulation. Beneath the surface of the mattress, there is a layer of high quality comfort foam – the foam varies depending on the model you choose. There are two microcoil Comfort Layers situated between a second layer of high-quality foam to offer sleepers more comfort, pressure relief, and durability. Beneath the microcoil Comfort layers is a final layer of comfort foam and then a layer of high-density polyfoam for extra support. The base of the mattress includes a zoned and reinforced steel coil system. A layer of DuraDense foam serves as the bottom layer of the mattress.

Like other Helix mattress collections, the Elite collection includes 6 different mattress models, each designed to meet the needs of specific sleep preferences. Firmness levels range from soft to firm. To achieve the intended firmness level for each model, the foam comfort layers vary in material and density. Support layers through the mattress remain the same for each of the 6 Elite collection mattresses. We have to admit we love the detail that goes into each mattress that makes each one unique and fit individual needs.

Regardless of which mattress you choose, you’ll get the same zoned coil system and two layers of microcoils. The base coils are strong and thick, creating excellent support for long term use The base coils are strong and thick, creating excellent support for long term use than from a regular memory foam mattress.

1. Helix Midnight Elite

Helix Midnight Elite

Price: $1,829-$3,299

Mattress Type:  Hybrid

Firmness: 5-6/10

Construction

The Helix Midnight Elite Mattress is a cutting-edge mattress with nine layers of comfort and support. It starts with a plush quilted foam pillow top that uses built-in GlacioTex cooling fabric to regulate temperature for hot sleepers. The second layer is a premium Helix Dynamic Foam that provides targeted pressure relief for side sleepers. The third and fifth layers are Microcoil comfort layers that offer durable comfort and pressure relief for your hips and shoulders. The fourth layer is a high-density memory foam that provides additional support. The sixth layer is another high-density foam layer that offers cradling support and edge support. The seventh layer is a transition layer made from high-grade polyfoam to ensure durability and pressure relief. The eighth layer is an 8-inch layer of premium individually wrapped steel coils with zoned lumbar support and full perimeter reinforcement to support any size sleeper. The final layer is the DuraDense Foam base layer that helps to maintain the mattress’s structure and feel. Overall, the Helix Midnight Elite is a top-of-the-line mattress with advanced features for a comfortable and restful sleep experience.

Firmness

With a firmness rating of 5-6/10, the Midnight Elite mattress is considered to have a medium feel. This means that while there is some sinking, it’s not designed to sink as much as a soft mattress will. If this mattress is not firm enough for you, a great choice is the Helix Twilight Elite mattress.

The mattress will still mold well to your body, and you should feel hugged when you lay in it. This is the preferred number for side sleepers and for those who toss and turn frequently at night.

Motion Transfer

Motion transfer refers to the amount of movement shared from one part of the mattress to another. A bed with high motion transfer moves a lot when there is movement on any part of the mattress, while one with low motion transfer will move very little.

The Helix Midnight Elite, with its memory foam layers and steel coils, has a low motion transfer. It provides motion isolation and offers comfort and support.

Pressure Relief

The Helix Midnight Elite is a mattress that is designed to provide optimal comfort and support through its unique construction. The mattress is made up of several layers, including two individually wrapped microcoil layers that are specifically designed to cradle your body and provide targeted pressure relief.

The microcoil layers are made up of thousands of small coils that are individually wrapped in fabric. This construction allows each coil to move independently, which helps to reduce motion transfer and provide a more customized level of support. By distributing your body weight evenly across the microcoil layers, the mattress can help to alleviate pressure points and reduce the risk of discomfort and pain.

In addition to the microcoil layers, the Helix Midnight Elite also features a layer of high-density foam that provides additional support and helps to contour to your body’s curves. This foam layer is also designed to help reduce motion transfer and provide a more comfortable sleeping experience.

Overall, the Helix Midnight Elite is designed to provide a high level of comfort and support through its unique construction. The individually wrapped microcoil layers are just one of the many features that make this mattress a popular choice for those who are looking for a comfortable and supportive sleeping surface.

2. Helix Sunset Elite

Helix Sunset Elite Review

Price: $1,829-$3,299

Mattress Type:  Hybrid

Firmness: 2-3/10

Construction

Like all Elite models, the Sunset Elite comes with nine layers, five of which are high-density foam layers for a soft feel while cradling your hips and shoulders in side sleeping positions. The superior support system has hundreds of individually wrapped coils that feature lumbar support and provide a full reinforcement for a sturdy, supportive night’s sleep.

Firmness

The Helix Sunset Elite has a firmness level of 2-3/10, meaning that it’s a soft mattress with contouring support.

Motion Transfer

The Sunset Elite has two layers of microcoils to help prevent motion transfer to minimize edge sinking. Since this is a soft mattress, it provides superior motion transfer with very little bounce. This means it almost completely isolates the effects of motion from one side of the bed to the other.

Pressure Relief

The Helix Sunset Elite provides an incredible amount of pressure relief, allowing plenty of cushioning to alleviate tension. This mattress is recommended for sleepers who sleep primarily on their sides or toss and turn at night. It has a soft, plush feel that will create some contouring in the surface of the mattress.

3. Helix Dusk Elite

Helix Dusk Elite Review

Price: $1,829-$3,299

Mattress Type:  Hybrid

Firmness: 5-6/10

Construction

The Helix Dusk Elite has 5 high-density foam layers that come together for a medium feel that cradles and supports your body for stomach and back sleepers. It also has two individually wrapped microcoil layers designed specifically for cushioning comfort, reduced back pressure, and a restorative sleep experience.

Firmness

The Helix Dusk Elite is a 5-6/10 on the firmness level, meaning it is a medium firmness, which is slightly softer than the industry standard for medium firmness of 6-7/10.

Motion Transfer

As a medium-feel mattress, the Helix Dusk Elite provides slightly less motion isolation than the Sunset Elite. This means that you may feel some movement across the mattress, but not enough to be bothersome.

Pressure Relief

The Dusk Elite is soft enough that it provides good pressure relief and is a great choice if you suffer from back pain. Sleepers who frequently change sleep positions or couples with different sleep styles will appreciate the mix of contouring and firmness of this mattress. If you are a side sleeper or like an extra soft mattress, you should opt for the Sunset Elite.

4. Helix Twilight Elite

Helix Twilight Elite Review

Price: $1,829-$3,299

Mattress Type:  Hybrid

Firmness: 8-9/10

Construction

What’s unique about the Helix Twilight Elite is that it’s made up of copper gel memory foam which provides top-of-the-line pressure relief and the firmest feel. The sixth layer is another layer of high-density memory foam which provides even more support and durability for side sleepers and those who habitually toss and turn.

Firmness

This Helix Twilight Elite is a firm mattress with a firmness score of 8-9/10, meaning that it doesn’t have much contouring and little to no sinking.

Motion Transfer

As a firm mattress, the Helix Sleep Twilight Elite does not provide much motion transfer. Firm beds don’t do much sinking or bouncing, meaning they don’t isolate the effects of motion from one side of the bed to the other.

Pressure Relief

Unlike softer mattresses, firm ones typically focus on support instead of pressure relief. However, the layer of Memory Foam Plus does provide some degree of contouring and cushioning. This is a great choice for heavier sleepers or those with back pain.

5. Helix Dawn Elite

Helix Dawn Elite Review

Price: $1,829-$3,299

Mattress Type:  Hybrid

Firmness: 8-9/10

Construction

This mattress’s support layer is memory plus foam and Helix Dynamic Foam which is an exclusive foam blend that provides support as well as a cradling feel as you sleep. The comfort layer is made from Helix Dynamic Foam also, which cradles and supports your body to help prevent you from sinking too far into the mattress.

Firmness

This is a firm mattress with a firmness score of 8-9/10, meaning it’s a bit firmer than a medium firm bed, so you’ll have less sinking.

Motion Transfer

As a firm mattress, the Helix Dawn Elite doesn’t have a lot of motion isolation so you may feel the movement of your partner somewhat, but it shouldn’t be too bothersome.

Pressure Relief

The Helix Dawn provides quite a bit of pressure relief which is surprising for a firm mattress allowing just enough sinking to alleviate tension without the feeling of sinking into the mattress. Depending on your sleep preference this mattress is the perfect choice for those that are combination sleepers.

6. Helix Moonlight Elite

Helix Moonlight Elite Review

Price: $1,829-$3,299

Mattress Type:  Hybrid

Firmness: 2-3/10

Construction

Like other Helix Elite mattresses, the Moonlight Elite uses 5 High-Density Foam Layers with the top comfort layer of Helix Dynamic Foam, which provides comfort and countering. Also, unlike the other Elite mattresses, the Moonlight Elite has a second layer of dynamic foam that has a lower indentation force deflection making it extra soft.

Firmness

The Helix Moonlight Elite is a soft mattress with a 2-3/10 rating on the firmness scale.

Motion Transfer

Soft mattresses like the Moonlight Elite have excellent motion isolation. Two sleepers can comfortably share this bed without feeling one another’s movements.

Pressure Relief

Unlike the Sunset Elite, the Moonlight provides a little less contouring but makes up for it with pressure point relief without the sinking. Most often, soft mattresses are geared towards side sleepers however, The Moonlight Elite is recommended for stomach and back sleepers.

Overall, the Helix Elite collection is an excellent choice for those who are looking for a high-quality hybrid mattress that offers excellent support and comfort. With six different models to choose from, each designed for different sleeping styles and preferences, the Helix Elite caters to a wide range of customers. The nine-layer construction of the mattress provides a luxury sleep experience, and the zoned coil system and two layers of microcoils offer exceptional support for long-term use.
